By the time the movie came out, all of the cast members that played adult family members in the original 1961 film had passed away (with Brian Keith, who played the twins' father, dying just ONE YEAR prior to this version's release) except for Maureen O'Hara, who played the twins' mother, and Joanna Barnes, who played the wicked girlfriend, Vicky. Sadly, the former also outlived Natasha Richardson, who played the twins' mother in the remake.
