Simon Furman, who had written the Transformers comics in the U.K. and the U.S., collaborated with the screenwriters to produce a graphic novel, "Transformers: Prequel", which chronicled the events that led to the classic Autobot and Decepticon war back on Cybertron, and serves as a prequel to the events that occurred in the film. This story can be seen as a bonus feature in the Walmart DVD, Transformers: Beginnings (2007).
