Manoj Kumar stated "whatever exposure has been shown in my films is there because the script demanded it. Where the script says you cry you cry where it says you stop crying you stop crying where it requires you to get wet you get wet where it demands exposure you expose if. It demands sex you have sex. While making a film from the first frame to the last, the directors knows what's the intensity, degree pitch volume of each scene. I had told Hema Malini the story of Kranti and she accepted it. She was really into the film in spite of being seasick and vomiting every 15 minutes when we were shooting on the boat. She was enjoying it I told her we'd pack up and shoot again because she wasn't well but she insisted the show must go on".
