As the television series contains certain elements that are different from the original source material, some Agatha Christie/Poirot book purists may want to consider this as the alternative adaptation if the bulk of it was nearly entirely set in the 1930s. Conversely, viewers of the series whom then read the original book versions, will have the same confusion, or delight, of discovering that it was set over a much longer time period, and exactly how Agatha Christie plotted the twists and turns. Obviously, many readers now read the books, picturing David Suchet's personification of Poirot.
