In 2017, Kate Winslet reported that she had never had any qualms about working with Roman Polanski on this film, as well as with Woody Allen on La ruota delle meraviglie (2017), despite both men being the subject of sexual misconduct investigations for years. However, in a 2020 Vanity Fair interview, she admitted that in the wake of the Me Too movement, she regretted both co-operations and said that she "shouldn't have done that".
