Yon-Rogg is the 5th MCU villain to be revealed through a plot twist following Aldrich Killian from Iron Man 3 (2013), The Winter Soldier/Bucky Barnes & Alexander Pierce from Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), and Ego from Guardiani della Galassia Vol. 2 (2017). All other villains were either building up their intentions as a villain, or were clearly evil from their first appearance.
