Johnny Olson did not eve live in Los Angeles when he was the announcer on the show. He commuted from his home in West Virginia. No matter how sick he was, he would hang in there until the end. One time, he was so sick to his stomach that he had to throw up, so he just kept a trash can next to his lectern and barfed into it between "Come on Downs."
