On the DVD and VHS release of this movie, the alternate ending titled "Far Far Away Idol" a parody of American Idol is featured and the characters sing eleven hit songs. In the end, you choose the winner. However, the host of the game, Simon Cowell, will refuse to let any other character (aside from Shrek, Fiona, Donkey, and Puss), and he will proclaim himself as the victor. On the VHS release, a link was included to vote for the ultimate champion, who, after only three days, DreamWorks announced that after seven hundred fifty thousand votes, Doris was the winner.
