The label on the canister identified David Aames as patient #: PL515NT-4R51MS, with a "first life cycle" from 9/22/68 - 12/26/2001. It should be noted that the film was released one week and five days before the date of David's death. Director Cameron Crowe referred to Vanilla Sky as a glimpse into the future, one week away.
