The largest dinosaur, Rudy, is based on the dinosaur Baryonyx. The animators chose this dinosaur because of its crocodile-like appearance, which differentiated him from the more familiar Tyrannosaurus. His white color and bloodshot eyes were added to make him even more menacing.
