In the episode "Tasumi Unmasked" it is revealed that Tasumi is in fact a Japanese pop star, who moved to Pleasant Hills to escape the constant adoration of her fans and live a peaceful life. This was a decision of the Disney creative team who considered Tasumi a character without relevance in the series so they decided to create this story to develop the character.
