The film's release date of October 1992 was deferred until April 1993 according to an article published in the 3rd January 1993 edition of 'The Los Angeles Times' newspaper. This was attributed to delays in scheduling the movie's first round of re-shoots which in the end got underway in November 1992. Actress Lena Olin had been unavailable as she was working on 'Romeo is Bleeding' (1994).
