The character Dinah Madani a tenacious Homeland Security agent played by Amber Rose Revah, who is a war vet that's just returned from serving in Afghanistan and finds herself drawn into Frank Castle's world. Executive producer Jeph Loeb describes Madani as, "a different way of going from the typical cop who was chasing Frank". Madani is one of the main characters in the series but stands out from the rest of the main cast in that she is an original character to the series that's completely new to the Marvel universe, having never appeared in the Marvel comic books the series' is based on. This makes it interesting for die hard Marvel fans who can watch her character progress without having any clue as to how her story will go.
