Although the game was only loosely inspired by the Resident Evil games released at the time, it ended up as inspiration for some of the later games. The laser corridor sequence was later referenced in Biohazard 4 (2005) and Baiohazâdo: Anburera kuronikuruzu (2007). The latter game also featured the Red Queen A.I. and an attack on a high-speed train wagon inside an Umbrella complex.
