John Milius told Bob Gale and Robert Zemeckis that the 1973 scripts for "Bordello of Blood" and "Tank", which the writers passed on to him, were "pretty darn good", and while Milius never produced either of the scripts, his admiration for them led to him producing another Gale/Zemeckis script, 1941 - Allarme a Hollywood (1979).
