Klinger started wearing dresses on April 22, 1951. In MASH: Fade Out, Fade In (1977)(#6.1) (the episode when Major Winchester first appears), he tells Capt. Schaeffer that April 22 will mark exactly 2 years. April 22, 1950 would be before the Korean war even started, and since the war ended in 1953 that would narrow it down to 1951.
