This movie was released four months after Octopussy - Operazione piovra (1983). This was the second time that two James Bond movies were released in the same year. It previously occurred with James Bond 007 - Casino Royale (1967) and Agente 007 - Si vive solo due volte (1967). Both the original Casino Royale and Never Say Never Again were non-canon movies competing with official Bond movies.
