The person who killed Nicole Wallace, who had also fallen in love with Det. Goran was his own mentor, Declan. He also killed Goran's drug addicted brother so that Goran could have closure in his life after finding out that his father was a serial killer (played by the late Roy Scheider) who was later executed.
