This film addresses the apparent continuity error in earlier installments - McClane is afraid of flying in Trappola di cristallo (1988) and 58 minuti per morire - Die Harder (1990), but not Die Hard - Duri a morire (1995). Here, he explains that he took flying lessons in order to "face his fears."
