Contrary to common knowledge, the film had a sequel in the form of a tie-in video game, Hulk (2003), released at the same time as the film. The game also has a limited series tie-in comic book called "Hulk: Gamma Games." This generally well-received and best-selling game, along with the successful merchandising, furthered the chances of Universal green-lighting a potential 'Hulk 2' film when the film itself happened to be just a marginal box office success.
