after giving hits like Ankush 1986 and Prathughaat 1987 N Chandra had a script ready but wasn't finding a hero that's when Boney Kapoor asked him to cast Anil Kapoor,but N Chandra wasn't keen to cast him as Anil Kapoor was very busy those days,Boney Kapoor asked N Chandra to just narrate the script to Anil Kapoor ,Anil Kapoor liked role of Munna but he said he cant give him dates for at least two years and N Chandra wasn't ready for it ,Boney Kapoor then stepped in and said to N Chandra you can keep your crew ready which ever shoot of Anil Kapoor gets canceled the date will be yours so whenever Anil Kapoor's shoot would get canceled N Chandra would rush to the sets and start shooting for Tezaab and Anil Kapoor completed the film much before films he started before Tezaab.
