On one of the episodes early on in the run of the show, Howard tries to goad Richie into doing him a favor. After Richie continues to resist Howard's guiltmongering, Howard finally lays the following speech on Richie:" Ok Richie. I didn't want to bring this up, but do you remember that one time when I walked in on you in your room, and you were all by yourself. And you were....". "Ok Ok Ok Dad! I'll do it", Richie responds. This is a masturbation joke. So subtle that Gary Marshall was able to sneak it by the censors in 1977.
