On the film's 10th anniversary, Paul Feig admitted he had never heard the song Hold On before working on Bridesmaids, it was suggested by multiple cast and crew members for the scene at the wedding in which they hoped to have an artist appear and perform their own song. He said it was an excellent suggestion, as the song fit with the film's theme so well, and luckily Wilson-Phillips agreed to come sing it.
