According to director Guillermo del Toro, Bradley Cooper nailed the final shot of the movie on his first take. The director saw the shot--in which Cooper's Stan laughs maniacally after agreeing to take the "geek" position--as the most important in the film and was willing to do as many takes as needed to get it right. "We're going to shoot this, 50, 60 times, whatever we need. And... [We got it on] take one," del Toro said.
