Robert Pattinson was briefly considered for the role of the Beast. Pattinson played the cursed supernatural man Edward Cullen, in love with a normal girl, in the Twilight Saga film franchise. Edward Cullen and the Beast have been noted by literary critics as having stalker-like tendencies, including imprisoning the women they love. The final two Twilight movies were directed by Bill Condon. Robert Pattinson and Emma Watson (Belle) also had appeared together in Harry Potter e il calice di fuoco (2005).
