Features several references to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In the beginning of the movie, The Avengers are mentioned in text. At the end of the movie, it references Nick Fury. It is revealed that Gibbons faked his death and one of the lens of Gibbons' glasses are darkened. Similarly, his character Nick Fury fakes his death in Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014).
