The first season ends on a cliffhanger with Dick Grayson demonically possessed by Trigon after giving into his darkside. The reason for this is because the powers to be withheld the next episode that was going to be the first season finale and made it the premiere episode of the second season. This is why Starfire has a curly wig on in the second season premiere and a straight wig in the rest of the second season.
