When Patty slaps the ghost out of Abby, Abby says, "That's going to leave a mark." This may be a reference to John Candy from Balle spaziali (1987). Candy was originally sought to play Louis Tully in Ghostbusters (Acchiappafantasmi) (1984), but turned down the role.
