Nobody gave this show much chance for success, partly because it was on Thursday night against Magnum P.I. (1980). The sitcom eventually became the number one show on the air. In one episode, Cliff wore a Magnum baseball cap. When Magnum PI went off the air, the only other show to go against it for the number 1 spot Thursday nights and topple it was The Golden Girls.
