The opening sequence of the movie showed a newly-transformed Bella Swan (Kristin Stewart) running at high speed through the forest barefoot, testing the limits of her vampire powers. Stewart was not actually in the woods in bare feet. She was really walking/running on gym mats and the scenery was cropped in with CGI technology.
