During the early stages of production, Crispin Glover was coming around to the idea appearing in the film. Bob Gale tried to sweeten the deal by offering him double what he made from the first film and also offered him the role of Seamus McFly in Back to the Future Part III. However, Glover responded by hiring new agents who demanded more money.
