Chadwick Boseman, who is introduced as T'Challa/Black Panther in this movie, sadly learned that he was suffering from stage III colon cancer in the same year as this movie was released. He kept his condition secret while also appearing in the Marvel movies Black Panther (2018), Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019) before his death in 2020.
