When Marlon Brando openly questioned to Francis Ford Coppola why Gianni Russo was cast in the movie, and then suggested, in front of Russo, re-casting him, Russo quietly pulled Brando aside and said, "If you ever talk to me like that again, or if you ever stand in the way of me getting this role again, I'm going to break you apart and suck on your heart". Marlon was stunned for a moment. Then he said, "That was brilliant!". Brando didn't realize that Russo was infact a former mafioso wise guy, and was infact dead serious.
