Ben Savage and Rider Strong did not get along well when Boy Meets World first entered production. During a podcast, Strong chalked up his attitude toward Savage to their being from different places. The pair finally bonded after spending a weekend together at Savage's house, during which they came up with their handshake seen throughout the series. The handshake was not originally intended to be incorporated into the series, but it stuck after the two actors performed it during a rehearsal and the producers liked it.
