Michael Bower was considered for the part of Frankie but Disney changed their minds because he had previously been on a Nickelodeon show "Salute Your Shorts" and Disney at the time didn't want anyone who had been on a rival network. Ironically enough a year later they hired Bower's Salute Your Shorts co-star Blake Sennett for the role of Joey the Rat.
