Something that is left to the interpretation of each viewer is the love relationship between Velma and Hot Dog Water, at first they are shown as rivals and later they develop love feelings, the relationship between the two was not shown by decision of the cartoon Network executives although it is something that is said implicitly and has been confirmed by the writers and voice actress Grey Griffin. It was eventually stated by Tony Cervone, one of the creators of the series, that his intent was for Hot Dog Water and Velma to become a romantic couple after the timeline resets in Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated: Come Undone (2013).
