In episode 09 "The Collectors", The Corinthian stated that the serial killer The Bogeyman drowned in Louisiana three years before. This is one of the few script references to the contemporary DC Universe at the time of the publishing of the graphic novel (#14). It refers to issue #44 of Alan Moore's Swamp Thing Volume 2 where The Bogeyman tries to cross the Bayou after claiming his latest victim and drowns, witnessed by the knowing, passive, elemental guardian Swamp Thing. Bogeyman's gimmick was to ask others to "Think of a number?" to which described of the eyes of that particular victim. After drowning he wondered to himself of the nature of his afterlife and asked if there was anyone there, he was answered from the darkness with "Think of a Number"!
