Many fans have speculated that Marvel Disney may have rebooted Kingpin due to his character being toned down in comparison to his appearance in Marvel Netflix's Daredevil (2015). However, Vincent D'Onofrio has confirmed that the Kingpin in Marvel Disney's Hawkeye (2021) is the same exact Kingpin from Marvel Netflix's Daredevil (2015). The toning down of his character is likely due to Hawkeye being rated for younger viewers than Daredevil.
