This is the only movie in the franchise where the main dinosaur gets killed. The T. Rex in Jurassic Park (1993), the T. Rex and infant T. Rex in Il mondo perduto - Jurassic Park (1997), and the Spinosaurus in Jurassic Park III (2001) all lived. The Indominus Rex gets killed during the final battle between the T. Rex, the Velociraptors, and the Mosasaurus.
