Doug Savant avoided discussing his sexual orientation with journalists during the broadcast of "Melrose Place" when he was married and had children. It was his costar Andrew Shue who outed him to People Magazine. "But some people just assume I'm gay. I'm willing to accept either label", he says to The Advocate in December 1994.
