On the show, Barnabas Collins only turned a total of four people into vampires. The first, and the most intentional, was former henchman for enemy Laura Collins, Dirk Wilkins, during the 1897 storyline to throw suspicion off of him being a vampire. The second was a woman named Audrey looking for a good time in Collinsport, during the Leviathan storyline as a warning that the Leviathans will revert him into a vampire again if he betrays them. Audrey was played by a then-unknown Marsha Mason. The third was Leviathan follower, Megan Todd, during the same storyline as revenge against Leviathan leader Jeb Hawkes making good on the Leviathans' promise, when Barnabas broke free of their influence over him. However, Barnabas tried in vain not to do this. The fourth was his love interest, Roxanne Drew, during the 1840 storyline. The last one was with assistance from a jealous Angelique, who used witchcraft to reopen Roxanne's wounds after Barnabas refused to both turn Roxanne into a vampire and resume his and Angelique's marriage.
