There's an evident homage during the "battleship" sequence to the movie Batman (1966). The Riddler launches a sea-to-air missile at Batman's aircraft. It's an indirect hit that knocks Batman out of the sky. The Riddler is ecstatic, announcing "Aah! I got him!". Something strikingly similar transpires in the 1966 film with Frank Gorhin's Riddler shooting down Adam West and Burt Ward, then viewing the accomplishment as pleasant surprise with the line "I got them! I got them!"
