One of the rare fantasy saga where each sequel continues from the first movie rejecting the previous as if they have wouldn't exist. So, the third part Highlander 3 (1994) was made ignoring the events in the second Highlander II - Il ritorno (1991), and the fourth Highlander: Endgame (2000) was made ignoring the events in Highlander II - Il ritorno (1991) and Highlander 3 (1994). Including the lately Highlander: The Source (2007) ignored Highlander II - Il ritorno (1991), Highlander 3 (1994) and Highlander: Endgame (2000), in an attempt to retell the origin of the immortals previously told in Highlander II - Il ritorno (1991).
