This was the highest grossing film of all time not directed by James Cameron (it was third under Titanic (1997)'s second place and Avatar (2009)'s first). It has since been replaced by Star Wars - Il risveglio della Forza (2015). Its third sequel, Avengers: Endgame (2019) subsequently became the highest-grossing film of all time (not adjusted for inflation.)
