Spencer Breslin won a Stinkers Bad Movie Award for 'Worst Performance by a Child in a Feature Role' for his role as Conrad in the film. Dakota Fanning was nominated for the same award for her role as Sally in the film. Because the "Stinkers Bad Movie Awards" (which was basically a lesser version of the Razzies) hated Breslin's performance in this film so much and because he was one of the most recognizable kid actors of the time, not only did they create a new award for the 'Worst Performance by a Child in a Feature Role', they named it 'The Spencer Breslin Award'.
