This was the first film Lisa Edelstein and Helen Hunt appeared in together. Edelstein has a brief cameo early in the film as a restaurant patron Jack Nicholson insults. Edelstein would go on to have a more considerable sized role in What Women Want (2000) which also starred Helen Hunt.
