The film was in production since 2005, Víctor Salva wrote a script titled "Jeepers Creepers 3: Cathedral" with Gina Philips as the protagonist, Brad Parker (Artistic Director and co-creator of the creeper) even made the concept art of the film however at the Final MGM showed no interest in making another movie. So the script ended up being "canned" and when it was approved in 2015, Salva was forced to rewrite and replace characters, in addition to adapting to multiple budget cuts. The night filming was expensive for the company, so almost the entire project was filmed during the day, in addition to the fact that a botarga was not used for the creeper since only the mask and hands were made.
