After Ruby 'loses' (i.e. can't find) her car, she rides the bus on her various outings to the shops, to the library, to the cinema, etc. The bus she travels in carries the number 35 and the destination "TOWN BUS" on its destination board. In fact, Sydney, where this film was shot, has not had a No. 35 bus since 1992 when the last service carrying that number ran between the Belmore and Lakemba suburban train stations via the Roselands Shopping Centre. [This service was deleted in October 1992 and the areas it covered are now incorporated into the route 942 between Campsie and Lugarno.]However, it should be remembered that principal photography on "Ruby's Choice" was originally to have been undertaken in Melbourne, only transferring to Sydney at a late stage in production due to the stronger coronavirus lock-down restrictions then in place in the State of Victoria. In Victoria, the number 35 is carried by Melbourne's City Circle tram, which runs continuously around the outer limits of the Central Business District along Flinders St, Spring St, La Trobe St and Harbour Esplanade. Had filming taken place in Melbourne as originally planned, the film would undoubtedly have included numerous shots of Jane Seymour (Ruby) boarding/alighting from this tram and literally 'going around in circles' as her dementia progressed.
