The scene where Cameron and Michael interview misfits as potential dates for Kat is reminiscent of the cover of Pink Floyd's album "Ummagumma" (1969). The album cover features the members of the band, with David Gilmour in the foreground, and the cover repeated as a picture within a picture, except with the members of the band switching places (Roger Waters in the foreground, then Nick Mason, then Richard Wright, as the images recede and decrease in size). In the movie, the scene repeats, with the misfit in the foreground switching each time.
