Paul Winfield, Merritt Butrick and the uncredited Judson Scott (Joachim) all later appeared on Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987), as did the second Saavik, Robin Curtis. In fact, Butrick and Scott were in the same season one episode, Star Trek: The Next Generation: Symbiosis (1988).
